Title:
Unit 02: Objects in Motion

Recommended Timeline:

15 days

Unit Descriptor:

During this unit, students explore objects in motion and different textures that cause movement to be fast or slow and in different directions. Students use their senses to observe, describe and discuss the different textures. Students will use non-standard measuring tools to record data. There are significant benefits from the use of kinesthetic learning activities to build knowledge of scientific concepts.

According to Research
The focus should be on motion and on encouraging children to be observant about when and how things seem to move or not move. They should observe motion everywhere, making lists of different kinds of motion and what things move that way.
